The first night for operation of the Faith Clinic was Wednesday, April 6, from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. It was a glorious night as we served nine patients. Since then, we have seen our client list grow. At each appointment, one of our Faith Clinic volunteers takes time to get to know each client personally. This is the beginning of what we believe will be a valuable ministry to the people of Marshall.
Our target group are those persons who fall “between the cracks” in having too little or too much financial resources to receive government help. Studies have shown that this is a sizable group in Harrison County who cannot afford health care and do not qualify for government assistance.
We have had over fifty persons who have indicated an interest in volunteering to help in ways in which they can help; everything from processing paper work in helping people to register, filing and keeping records, welcoming persons and giving proper directions, assisting those seeking prescriptions, security, medical personnel such as any level of nursing, pharmacists, physician’s assistants, and doctors. There will be a place for everyone who comes through the Clinic to have someone to pray with them and offer any spiritual help needed. Volunteers for the Chaplaincy area can be filled by any born-again believer who wants to help. Keep the beginning of the Faith clinic in your prayers.
